Your Union at Work …

Did You Know?

Ø       Our union turned 70 years old at the end of January.  We hosted a wonderful event at Kasey’s on our birthday, Friday, January 28

Ø      A benefits trust fair was held on January 18.  This fair provided members with the opportunity to have questions answered on a myriad of topics.

Ø      Timely and appropriate information, forms, calendars, photos and more are found on our union’s website,

Ø      The Rockville Centre Teachers’ Association Children’s Charity Fund has helped numerous students in our educational community.  This year, a jewelry sale fundraiser and donations from our High School brothers and sisters contributed to this special resource. More fundraisers are being planned.

Ø      The Rockville Centre Teachers’ Association is now on Facebook and Twitter.  This is another way for you to receive prompt and accurate information.

Ø      A dollar breakdown of your union dues is found on our website.

Ø      Our Fall Barbecue yielded a donation of nearly 300 pounds of food to the INN.  We're planning another barbecue, to be held at Belmont Park in October.

Ø      Our Executive Council members are attending Board of Education meetings.

Ø      Rockville Centre Teachers’ Association members are participants in numerous committees within our district and throughout the state.

Ø      Portraits in Professionalism is a new program offered through our union.  It highlights members from our educational community and their achievements outside of school.

Ø      Our Executive Council includes building representatives, Cabinet members and other representatives from special committees.  Reporting takes place at our monthly Executive Council meetings.

Ø      VOTE-COPE is the fundraising arm of the statewide union, NYSUT. Your contributions to VOTE-COPE can be made through direct deposit from your paycheck.
