Did You Know?
Ø Our union turned 70 years old at the end of January. We hosted a wonderful event at Kasey’s on our birthday, Friday, January 28.
Ø A benefits trust fair was held on January 18. This fair provided members with the opportunity to have questions answered on a myriad of topics.
Ø Timely and appropriate information, forms, calendars, photos and more are found on our union’s website, http://ny.aft.org/rvcta.
Ø The Teachers’ Association Children’s Charity Fund has helped numerous students in our educational community. This year, a jewelry sale fundraiser and donations from our brothers and sisters contributed to this special resource. More fundraisers are being planned.
Ø The Rockville Centre Teachers’ Association is now on Facebook and Twitter. This is another way for you to receive prompt and accurate information.

Ø Our Fall Barbecue yielded a donation of nearly 300 pounds of food to the INN. We're planning another barbecue, to be held at Belmont Park in October.
Ø Our Executive Council members are attending Board of Education meetings.
Ø Rockville Centre Teachers’ Association members are participants in numerous committees within our district and throughout the state.
Ø Portraits in Professionalism is a new program offered through our union. It highlights members from our educational community and their achievements outside of school.
Ø Our Executive Council includes building representatives, Cabinet members and other representatives from special committees. Reporting takes place at our monthly Executive Council meetings.
Ø VOTE-COPE is the fundraising arm of the statewide union, NYSUT. Your contributions to VOTE-COPE can be made through direct deposit from your paycheck.
